Hello, I am Mala'ika!
I am a digital creator based in Winnipeg, MB. I have always had a knack for creativity, art, and storytelling. As a multi-generationally mixed Canadian, I grew up with influences from various cultures. These memories combined with my experiences led me to begin writing the stories and creating the representation that I never had growing up.
Fueled by the success of my debut publication, “Amina’s Afro,” I intend to continue to inspire readers with more exciting tales in the future. My second book “Jamilah’s Family” has already begun to captivate readers! My unique combination of personal experiences and imagination ensures that there are still many stories to come!

As a writer and artist, I aim to create stories of family, friendship, and adventure featuring diverse characters to provide positive representation for Black and brown children that break the conventional storylines and harmful tropes we are used to. Every stroke of my digital pen is a commitment to creating fun and inspiring stories for children of all backgrounds!
